“I always wanted to move to Nashville and be a songwriter.”
This is a phrase uttered by thousands of potential Music Row dreamers over the years, but Bob Farrar has actually made good on it.
A native Georgian, Bob spent more than 30 years litigating in the Peach State. He's been an associate with one of Atlanta's premier firms, a solo practitioner, a city's staff attorney and a partner in a firm for 15 years.
For Bob, the call to Nashville was too strong to ignore. Unlike many others, however, Bob has a nice day job that aids him as he pursues his passion for songwriting.
“I still travel to Georgia to do a lot of my work during the week, and Counsel On Call has connections with some really great law firms and companies there,” he said. “I'm able to come up here to my cabin on the weekends and write songs, relax, and work with other artists. I really enjoy it.”
Bob's cabin, located in the musician-friendly Fernvale community outside of Nashville, is perfectly suited for creativity. It's quiet, scenic, and a place easy to envision the next great country ballad coming from.
“It was the first place I saw when I visited here. I signed the paperwork right away.”
The cabin also holds another one of Bob's treasures: his family antiques and heirlooms. Most of his collection — which includes a variety of furniture, small wood carvings, instruments and other unique items — pre-dates the Civil War. He spends a lot of his time researching the pieces, learning more about their history and about his family. |
