Two Travel Teams Put Into Action

Client Need

A partner in a law firm with more than 200 attorneys needs assistance with a class-action suit in which discovery has been expedited. Specifically, the firm needs a travel team of attorneys who can work in various client locations, complete an initial review of the client’s documents, identify relevant documents and have them copied, return the documents to the law firm in the order they were maintained by the client, and communicate with the firm’s lawyers as to whether a further review of certain documents is required.

Solution

The attorney contacts Counsel On Call to assemble two travel teams, each with a team leader and supporting associate attorneys. Each attorney needs commercial litigation experience, and many need class-action litigation experience. The attorneys, as well as one firm associate on each team, will travel extensively and cover many geographic areas. Throughout this period, the two team leaders must remain in regular communication with the law firm partner in charge of the case.

Result

Within one week, Counsel On Call assembled the two travel teams with the requisite experience needed, and the project was completed within a three-week time period.

Several Counsel On Call attorneys remained on-site with the firm after the conclusion of the initial document review and worked with the firm until the case was settled, approximately 18 months later. The client commented that the team approach was extremely valuable, further stating that the attorneys were “simply excellent” and instrumental in the firm’s ability to complete the discovery in an expedited manner.
