Client Need

An AMLAW 50 law firm in Atlanta has become the primary discovery center for a majority of the tobacco litigation cases. The discovery center receives and reviews all documents for the cases and then distributes the relevant documents in response to specific requests. Based on caseload, the firm has an immediate need for 15 contract attorneys.

Solution

The firm, which previously made a decision not to use outside agency contract attorneys based on negative prior experiences, decides that Counsel On Call is different from the traditional staffing company.

Although Counsel On Call’s Atlanta office had been open for less than one month, it screens more than 100 attorneys for the project. After considering both prior experience and how well each member of the team would work together, Counsel On Call selects the best 15 attorneys to work on the assignment.

Result

The Counsel On Call team of attorneys fulfilled the six-month commitment and most were asked to stay at the firm longer. The firm continued to contact Counsel On Call as needs arose, ordering up to 15 attorneys at any given time. Counsel On Call always provided the client with the number of attorneys specified, usually within seven days, while making sure only those who had the requisite experience to provide high-quality work and who worked well as a team were selected.
